However you like it, for decades coffee has been a main ingredient to the recipe of many of our morning rituals. Once upon a time, I was partial to a milky, full-cream coffee. However, as I was transitioning into a vegan diet I spent many mornings experimenting with plant-milks in order to find a perfect replacement for my creamy coffee.
Whilst celebrating my favourite meal of the day, breakfast, I discovered one of my favourite cafes have a vast selections of plant based milks. Being coco-crazy, I was excited when I ordered coconut milk in my double-shot flat white and even more so, when I realised how amazing it tasted!
Hair Loss Treatments Brisbane share Coconut Milk Coffee Recipe:
- Alternative to dairy milk
- Perfect for vegans, vegetarians or anyone who is lactose-free
- Makes a rich, creamy coffee
- Loaded with nutrients
The milk obtained from the flesh of a brown coconut, contains many vitamins, essential minerals, fibre, and healthy fats and if taken orally and used on your skin, reaps many benefits. With more calcium than cow’s milk, and a lower sugar, calorie and fat count, coconut milk is a fool-proof alternative for anyone with an intolerance to lactose or just wanting to eliminate dairy from their diet and vegans.
Excited and inspired, I of course tried to copy my café-style coconut coffee at home. After a lot of research, I opted for an organic, bpa-free, canned coconut milk, which is available at the supermarket. This milk was a perfectly matched alternative for cow’s milk in regards to consistency whilst preparing my coffee, which didn’t have an overwhelming coconut flavour or fatty taste. A 400ml can of coconut milk yields up to 5 coffees, depending on your personal usage. Whether you enjoy instant, French-press or espresso, it is so simple to replace the dairy component in your coffee with a delicious plant-based alternative.
